I recently posted an essay on the future of exascale computing there.As I noted in the CACM blog, we need a catastrophe – in the mathematical sense – a discontinuity triggered by a sustained research program and development program that combines academia, industry and government expertise that leaps the chasm of technical challenges we now face.
